The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has successfully concluded the National Risk Assessment (NRA) Validation Workshop, bringing together key stakeholders from government agencies, financial institutions, and international partners to validate the findings of Sierra Leone's national risk assessment of money laundering and terrorist financing.
The workshop provided a platform for participants to review the preliminary findings of the NRA, which identifies and assesses the risks of money laundering and terrorist financing facing Sierra Leone. The validated report will guide the country's AML/CFT strategy and resource allocation in the coming years.
Key outcomes of the workshop include the identification of high-risk sectors, prioritization of mitigation measures, and recommendations for strengthening Sierra Leone's AML/CFT framework in line with FATF recommendations.
